Anna Oksza-Klossi

I'm a Polish-born fine artist, a linguist, and a wiedźma ("she who knows" in my native language). Raised on the cusp of nature and old-world folklore, I grew up with the quiet certainty that the world is more than it appears. That early sense of enchantment—and the lifelong search for the grain of truth inside every legend—continues to shape the way I live and create. My work, done under the moniker House of Yaga, utilizes a diverse array of substrates and objects—ranging from upcycled industrial hardware and vintage clockworks to natural elements like preserved flora and bone. By layering such a variety of materials, I transform the two-dimensional surface into a sculptural narrative: a tale given physical form.

My academic background in Scandinavian and English philology informs my fascination with linguistics, symbolism, and the stories we inherit across cultures. Alongside this, a decade of independent study in folklore, Jungian psychology, and esoteric traditions has allowed me to develop a visual language meant to speak directly to the subconscious. As a modern wisewoman, I walk the line between contemporary science and old magic; I aspire not only to tell many a story with each artwork, but also to bring out the tales and truths already living in the viewer—hence calling my pieces "talismanic", as they're meant to be catalysts for real-life transformation.

Now based in Ojai, California, I create stories told with dimensional assemblages, and offer spiritual guidance rooted in science: bespoke tarot consultations and intuitive readings. My practice is dedicated to helping individuals—particularly women navigating profound life transitions.
