My creative journey began in the early 1970s, when I crafted ethnic-inspired brass earrings adorned with glass beads while also experimenting with batik fabrics and sewing my own clothing. Drawn to design from an early age, I studied clothing design and worked in the Los Angeles garment industry before shifting my focus to family life and raising three children.
My passion for design continued to evolve as I later transitioned into interior design, eventually owning and operating a kitchen and bath design business. In 2013, I took my first jewelry-making class and immediately found my artistic home. After casting my first ring I was hooked. I found the alchemy of transforming raw metal into my own creations incredibly empowering.
Today my work begins with hand-carving and molding wax models that are transformed through the ancient art of lost wax casting and finished using traditional fabrication techniques including hammering, soldering, and forming. I am especially drawn to organic shapes and textures, finding inspiration in nature's imperfect beauty.
Mixed metals are a hallmark of my designs. By combining gold and silver, I create versatile pieces that allow a customer to effortlessly wear and combine a variety of jewelry. I favor delicate, layered designs that enhance rather than overpower the wearer. I frequently incorporate irregular pearls and semi-precious stones, embracing their unique forms to create jewelry with an organic, handcrafted character.
For me, the greatest reward comes from hearing that a piece has become a customer's favorite or that they receive confidence building compliments. My goal is simple: to create beautiful, wearable jewelry that brings joy and becomes a meaningful part of everyday life.
