OVA Arts artist Elaine Unzicker has a Pop Up on our back patio tomorrow, Friday 1 – 3:30pm.
"I create seductive, wearable objects combining jewelry techniques with chain mail to caress the female body. As a child, I was taught to be quiet and not express myself even though I noticed creativity flowing through my grandmothers fingers in the form of quilt-making. I find my voice when I create art through the meditative state of linking one ring at a time. When knitted with small rings of thin metal wire, this masculine, war-like material becomes extremely soft and flowing. The ritual of laying the transparent veil of chain mail or Metal Lace as I like to call it, on a woman invokes a sense of security and a feeling of empowerment. My creations are a merging of art and history in the intimate setting of a woman's body." – Elaine

OVA Arts will have live music with David Roine, a variety of wines and hors d'oeuvres.
"Sometimes I think of myself as an obscure fiddling fool who believes that there are so many tunes and so little time. There's nothing more fun than exchanging fiddle tunes in a jam session or playing for a dance. I've been a member of various bands and ensembles over the years such as Stampede, Iron Mountain Boys, Polecat Ramblers, Big Tweed and JT and the Zydeco Zippers. Farmers market busking was off and on for quite a while. Currently I'm in a new traditional band called The Casitas String Band that plays for contradances in Ojai. I love old time Appalachian, Celtic, folk and various ethnic music. Some favorite influences are Kevin Burke, Planxty, The Chieftains, Erynn Marshall, Bruce Molsky, Highwoods String Band and the New Lost City Ramblers among many others.." – David
