Robin Riley of Matilija Studio is a ceramic artist residing in the beautiful Ojai Valley. A native Los Angeleno and pastry chef by trade she felt the allure of this special place and made the move in 1997, saying goodbye to L.A. and never looking back. Starting ceramic courses soon after at Ventura college was a natural step. My hands are always happiest engaged in something elemental , whether it be flour or clay, I am most connected to the earth when I lose myself in creating! A love for the natural world and the arts and crafts movement inspires me to create vessels reminiscent of a kinder, gentler past and I would invite you to slow down, breath in the fresh air, marvel at our beautiful world and enjoy a quiet moment.
