In a world that feels increasingly divided, stressful, and hurried, I find myself turning to painting as a way to hold on to the quiet and beauty that surround us. I want my paintings to offer a place of peace, providing us with a moment to slow down, breathe, and step away from the noise of everyday life.
Living in Ojai and spending time along our beautiful coastline, I am continually drawn to the changing light, the atmosphere, and the simple moments that fill me with awe. I paint in oils, building layers of translucent washes to capture the essence of a place rather than its physical appearance.
Ultimately, I want my paintings to offer more than a view of a landscape or the sea. I hope they provide a quiet refuge, a moment of reflection, and a renewed connection to the natural world: a reminder that even in difficult times, there are still the elements of beauty, peace, and much that brings us together.
