“Creatively I’ve delved into designing clothing, making jewelry, stained glass windows and now mosaics. I’ve found that all of my past creative endeavors is incorporated in my works. Over the years I’ve learned that for me, to create is to live. In stressful times I reach for my glass work and it can be a savior. I’ve been enjoying using my kiln to make fused glass. I love that mosaics has endless possibilities. I can include anything I find that speaks to me, vintage jewelry and buttons, semi-precious stones, shells, drift wood, millefiori, dichroic glass, rocks, and metal, are only a few examples. I use spiritual symbols often and have come to realize that for me mosaics is a spiritual practice. It feeds and expresses my soul.
I’ve also taught throughout the years. I teach in my home, in stores, privately and for groups. I continue making my own jewelry and clothing. Someday I may offer them in my stores and incorporate them in my classes. But for now, mosaics is my love as well as my two grandchildren. I’m working on passing this love on to them.” - Sherri
